Augusto Miravalle, MD

Dr. Augusto A. Miravalle is an internationally recognized expert in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology. He currently serves as Chief of the MS and Neuroimmunology Division and Professor of Neurology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. With over 20 years of experience in clinical care, research, and education, Dr. Miravalle is known for his leadership in advancing comprehensive MS care and brain health.

He earned his medical degree with highest honors from Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina, completed his neurology residency at Loyola University Medical Center, and pursued dual fellowships in MS and neuroimaging at Harvard University. Prior to joining Rush, he held academic leadership roles at the University of Colorado and the University of Florida.

Dr. Miravalle’s work has been recognized with numerous honors, including election to “Best Doctors in America” and the William T. and Janice M. Neely Professorship for MS Research, and most recently the Joseph and Florence Manaster Professorship in Neuroimmunology. He is actively involved in the American Academy of Neurology and the MS Association of America, where he advocates for brain health and health equity.

A passionate educator and mentor, Dr. Miravalle is committed to training the next generation of neurologists and developing innovative care models for diverse patient populations. His research focuses on disease-modifying therapies and strategies to promote lifelong brain health in individuals with MS.
