
William L. Conte, MD, MS
PRESIDENT & FOUNDER
Dr. William L. Conte is an internationally recognized expert in MS care and research. He earned his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, followed by an adult neurology residency at Loyola University Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology at The University of Chicago under a Sylvia Lawry grant from the National MS Society. He also completed a master’s degree in public health sciences while at The University of Chicago.
Dr. Conte is the director of the Comprehensive MS Center at Methodist Hospitals in Merrillville, IN, and an adjunct assistant professor of neurology at Indiana University. He has served as a principal or co-investigator on multiple clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies, with a focus on expanding treatment options and improving patient care. Dr. Conte is committed to education, advocacy, and improving access to MS care. He frequently speaks at national and international conferences and collaborates with nonprofit organizations to support research, professional education, and patient-centered initiatives.
Driven by a commitment to collaboration, equity, and advancing the standard of care in neuroimmunology, Dr. Conte founded the Chicago MS Alliance to unite MS specialists and allied professionals across the region. His goal is to create a platform for shared learning, clinical innovation, and coordinated advocacy that benefits people living with MS and related disorders.
